XRAY
In this experiment, I delve into the realms of perception and perspective. Transforming mass-produced lamps from Ikea into mesmerizing art sculpture.
My aim is to challenge conventional notions of aesthetics and function by encasing the Ikea Kinnahult lamp in translucent, colored acrylic structure.
When the lamp is switched on, a remarkable transformation occurs - the silhouette cast by the acrylic casing eclipses the radiance of the Ikea lamp within, paradoxically making the enclosure the star of the show.
This duality between light source and light sculptor adds a fresh layer of functionality and aesthetics to these otherwise commonplace mass-produced lamps.

XRAY is not merely about reimagining lamps; it's a profound exploration of how we perceive and interpret the world around us. Much like the way we approach news, appearances, and the words of others, we often skim the surface, forming judgments and opinions without delving into the underlying content, stories, or the essence of the person. XRAY serves as a visual analogy for this, shedding light on the importance of looking beyond the superficial to truly appreciate the substance beneath.
Through this experiment, I invite you to question your preconceived notions and encourage a deeper consideration of the world's multifaceted layers, where beauty and significance are waiting to be uncovered just beyond the surface.
